Top 5 Communication Apps on Android in the Middle East, Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, several communication apps demonstrated notable performance on the Android platform in the Middle East. According to Sensor Tower, these apps displayed varying trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.

Telegram saw a consistent increase in weekly revenue, culminating at approximately $71K by the end of March. Downloads fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting strong with 161K early in January, then dipping to 121K by late March. The app maintained a robust active user base, averaging around 17M weekly, with a slight decline towards the end of the quarter.

imo-International Calls & Chat experienced a peak in revenue at about $60K in mid-February. Downloads reached their highest at 146K in January but saw a reduction to 110K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed an increase, peaking at over 10M in March.

Snapchat reported a revenue peak of around $60K in late February. The app's downloads were highest in late March, reaching 218K, while active users showed a steady increase, peaking at 10.2M in the same period.

Azar: Video Chat, Meet Friends had a peak revenue of $43K in late February. Downloads increased towards the end of March, reaching 14K, while active users declined from 42K to 30K over the quarter.

Lastly, imo HD - Video Calls and Chats saw revenue reaching $34K in early February. Downloads were fairly stable, peaking at 74K at the end of March. Active users grew steadily, reaching 2.2M by the end of the quarter.
